Community Guidelines

Respect is the starting point here.

JustDisabled exists so disabled people can meet and share safely. The rules below apply to profiles, messages, posts, stories, comments and live streams.

This page is a plain-language summary of the Terms of Use; if they differ, the Terms of Use apply.

What we expect of each other

  • Be yourselfOne account, in your own name, with your own photos and accurate details. You must be at least 18.
  • Respect boundariesNo reply, or a "no", means the matter is closed. Persisting is harassment.
  • Ask with careBefore asking about someone's disability, diagnosis or body, ask whether they'd like to talk about it.
  • Get consent before sharingDon't share someone else's photos, messages or personal information without their permission.

What has no place here

Hate and belittling

Insults, mockery, hate speech or discrimination based on disability, health, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity or any other characteristic.

Harassment and bullying

Threats, stalking, unwanted sexual messages, and behaviour that fetishises or objectifies disability.

Impersonation

Pretending to be someone else, creating fake profiles, or misleading people about your age, identity or intentions.

Money and scams

Asking for money, gifts or personal / financial information; any commercial promotion and unsolicited bulk messaging.

Inappropriate content

Nudity, sexual content, violence, content that encourages self-harm, or anything illegal.

Child safety

Any inappropriate content involving or targeting anyone under 18. The account is permanently closed.

Sharing without consent

Sharing another person's private information, photos or messages without consent; copyright and trademark infringement.

Harming the service

Scraping data with automated tools, trying to bypass security measures, or spreading malware.

Live streams

The right to go live depends on certain conditions and approval. All of these rules apply in full to streams and stream comments, and streams that break them can be ended.

Sending gifts is voluntary. Pressuring viewers for gifts, or promising rule-breaking content in return, is not allowed.

If rules are broken

Depending on how serious and how repeated the violation is, one or more of these may follow:

  1. Content is removed. The photo, post, story, comment or stream that breaks the rules is taken down.
  2. The account is warned or restricted. Some features may be switched off temporarily.
  3. The account is permanently closed. For serious violations there is no warning first. People whose accounts are closed may not open a new one.

How to report

Choose Report from the menu on a profile, chat, post or live stream. You can also Block anyone you don't want to hear from.
